I just bought a used 2000 Cabrio. I have never had a car this old, and some of the little quirks are annoying me. the cupholder is broken, the auto locks don't work, the headlights are yellowed and foggy, just to name a few things. someone told me i could go to a salvage yard and pick parts off another VW...problem is, i can't find a VW in a salvage yard! Is my only choice to order these parts from the dealer? isn't that the most expensive way to go? are there some internet sites that would have these parts? i've already tried craiglists and ebay...there doesn't seem to be a lot out there.
I am in Indiana, but will ship a nice one from anywhere. I have exhausted car-parts.com & several other websites. Any VW salvage yards suggested would be appreciated!
We bought a used great running 85 vw golf and have decided to sell it in parts, we would like to know what online auction house would be best to sell on ?
I'm considering buying a 1974 VW Beetle that has been restored for the most part. It has 130,000 original miles on it and if I bought it it would be my everyday car. I was wondering how hard it was to maintain it and how hard and costly the parts are to find.
